J.14/ Feel More Energetic
Do you find yourself waking up feeling tired, suffering from an afternoon slump or needing a nap? Feeling fatigued is very common with our busy lifestyles, we forget to rest and take care of our bodies.
Boosting your energy levels can be as easy as taking a multivitamin, though for some the issue runs deeper. The cause of fatigue can be due to poor sleep, high stress levels, poor diet, lack of movement, unbalanced nutrient levels or it can be something else. Finding out the cause of the fatigue is the best way to improve your energy levels, that way you’re treating the issue at hand not just covering up the problem.
For clients who are suffering from stress and sleeping issues, I work on their nervous system and help them unwind from the day. In turn this will actually improve energy levels as you’re treating the cause of the issue. I also have clients that lead a busy lifestyle and need help to relax at night time but also need that boost in the mornings rather than relying on caffeine all day. If you’re having trouble falling asleep, staying asleep or waking up feeling tired still you may need some help in the sleep department. If you’re over thinking things, worrying too often, finding yourself anxious, then you could need some help to treat your stress levels, which will then help provide you with more energy.
Finding out if you’ve got any nutrient deficiencies is a simple case of doing some pathology testing, this can be done through your Doctor or myself. Low Iron and B12 can the culprits of decreasing your energy levels. Pathology testing can also test your endocrine system such as your Thyroid and Hormonal levels which can give an indicator if there are any other issues stemming into your fatigue. To correct a nutrient deficiency we simply give the appropriate nutrient in a therapeutic form and amount to level the body out again.
I often find patients aren’t eating a diet that suits them which in turn doesn’t provide enough energy for them throughout the day. Having too much sugar and caffeine can negatively impact your energy levels. Instead it’s best to have protein and healthy fats to provide your body with a good energy source, this will ensure your energy levels are sustained through the day. Eating regular meals will help maintain a nice level of energy too. When you’re feeling fatigued you often don’t feel like exercising but daily movement can have a positive impact on your energy levels. While you may not feel like it at the time in the long run regular exercise will help to improve your energy.
