J.31/ Improve your Hormonal Wellbeing
During our lifetime as a woman we go through certain changes with our hormones and they are in fact not always the same levels. Our hormones go through different ebbs and flows depending what time of life we are currently in.
Taking care of our hormones as a female really depends in which stage of life we are in and what are the current symptoms we are experiencing. Some symptoms that women can experience are mood swings, irregular periods, hot sweats, fatigue, heavy bleeding, pain, bloating, acne and more. A healthy cycle should not include any of the above symptoms, think of your cycle as your health report card, by improving your health you can also improve your cycle.
There are some certain conditions which do require more time and specific treatment, these include endometriosis, fibroids, poly cystic ovaries, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, infertility and more. It’s important to reach out to a health professional or myself if you think you may have one of these conditions so we can start an appropriate treatment for you once diagnosed.
A healthy cycle should be regular, minimal to no pain, no excessive bleeding and no major PMS symptoms. Outside factors that can influence our cycle health are poor diet, recent contraceptive use, high stress levels, pollution and more. Some things that you can try at home to help improve your cycle are to enjoy a clean healthy diet, include regular exercise, try a detox, improve your gut health and reduce stress levels. Trying these things are base line interventions and may help to improve your cycle but there are cases where you will need more specific help. We also have the other end of the spectrum where our hormone levels start to dip and our bodies start going through a change in life stage. Some women are fine with menopause while others suffer from multiple symptoms, my basic health guidelines also apply here, as good health is a reflection of our hormonal health.
No matter what stage of life you are in, it’s time to make sure your cycle report card is as good as it can be, improve your health and wellbeing to help improve your hormones. You can achieve a symptom free cycle and enjoy a change of life stage hormonal shift.
