J.23/ Boost Your Little Ones Health

Have you ever thought to treat your child using Natural Medicine? Naturopathy can be used to treat multiple conditions in your little one. Using tools such as supplements, herbal medicine, diet and lifestyle advice I can help to support your child to optimal wellbeing.

Using the tools Naturopathy has to offer for children you can get great results, whether it’s a cold, picky eating or insomnia, I can help your family resolve the cause. Treating children is a little different to adults, sometimes it’s more difficult for them to take supplements or make changes to their diet, each child is different in terms of change so we just see how it goes and support them the best we can. The best way to approach change is to be a great role model yourself and try things yourself.

Gut symptoms are one of the biggest areas I see in children in clinic, it might be stomach pain, issues going to the toilet, nausea, food intolerances and so on. Making small but doable diet changes can make a huge difference for these kids, I try to make swaps for things they’re already eating rather than a whole new set of foods as this is less confronting. Supplements can be tricky, some children find it easy and others find it difficult, there are a few tips I have to help ease this and I always try to get a product that is a palatable flavour.

The second biggest area of treatment I see in children is the nervous system, from issues with sleep, behavioural changes, developmental delays or anxiety. Sometimes these can be treated quickly and we can see improvements soon after starting treatment and in other circumstances it will be more long term. Using a range of nutrients and herbs that are suited to your little one’s needs we can all work together to improve their symptoms and get to the root of the cause.

Immune health and allergies is something else I also see in clinic, those frequent colds, runny noses and sore throats. Using Naturopathy will help boost your child’s immune system to decrease the frequency, severity and duration of a cold. Rashes, eczema, allergies, these are all related to immune health too, identifying if there’s an environmental contributing factor is key to helping reduce the immune response in these conditions. In addition I provide supplemental support to help the process as well.

Another area I see in children is picky eating, this one can be a long transition and a difficult process for the parent as well. Each child is different in what approach to use but you can also use supplements to help fill in any nutritional gaps your child may have. Using Naturopathy to help your child can give some great outcomes in a range of different conditions.
